How to Authenticate a Filipino Worker's Employment Contract in EU

If you are a direct hire, one of the requirements is to have your employment contract authenticated by Philippine Overseas Labor & Office (POLO). You have to inform your employer ahead of time about this process to set expectations.


I sent an email to POLO Berlin, Germany regarding authenticating the employment contract and how to request for the exemption of direct hire ban. This is applicable for applicants that are going to countries in Europe. There's also POLO in Geneva, Switzerland and London, United Kingdom. You can check their websites for more details. Please be guided of POEA Memorandum No. 08-2018 re: Implementing Guidelines on the Registration of Direct Hire OFWs (see link below):



One of the requirements in the registration is the verified employment contract by POLO. In this regard, may we provide you with the documentary requirements and procedure in the contract verification of direct hire:



DOCUMENTARY REQUIREMENTS:



1. Original Contract in English with Addendum (attached), which must be SIGNED BY THE EMPLOYER ON ALL PAGES.


2. Copy of the passport of the worker with at least six months validity


3. Copy of visa or visa approval of the worker


4. Copy of passport or residence ID of the employer


5. Copy of valid commercial registration/business license of the employer translated in ENGLISH


6. Signed letter of request for exemption from the ban on direct hiring



PROCEDURE:


A. The principal/employer shall send thru this email scanned copies of the above required documents for initial evaluation.


B. If the documents are found to be complete, satisfactory, and in order, the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) will advise the employer to send the original/paper copy of said documents personally or by mail/courier to the following address:

C. The employer shall transfer/deposit the verification fee of euro 9.00, net of bank charges, to Deutsche Bank AG.

D. Please personally collect or arrange a pick-up service with a courier company to claim your verified documents.
