Philippine Laoshi Domingo Gaces Samontina (a.k.a Mingae) was invited by the Principal of Kaohsiung Ruey Shyang Primary School (RSPS) for Bilingual Broadcasting Program Conversation at the National Education Radio (FM101.7) in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan.
2 December 2019 - National Education Radio (FM 101.7) Live English Program with the Principal, Teacher, Parents, and Students
When I was notified by the Principal of RSPS that we will visit the National Education Radio for a live radio broadcasting, I felt nervous and excited because I know there would be a language barrier between us. The principal asked me to give her the script about my topics so she can check the content and will be familiarized with translating it to the Chinese language. I managed to give her the script within only five minutes for both the first and second part of the presentation.
On the actual broadcasting, I find it very interesting and entertaining because this is my first time in live broadcasting. We started by introducing ourselves. As a foreign teacher, I used the English language to carry on, communicate, and deliver my script. The program was subdivided into two parts; the introductory and the actual conversation. The bilingual program befell December 02 and 25, 2019. To complete the presentation, RSPS principal, teacher, students, and I sing a song; Santa Claus is coming to town and We wish you a Merry Christmas. Singing together with them is a fascinating and enthralling experience.
